Potable Water Treatment
Calcite is an increasingly important component in the professional water-treatment contractor’s tool kit. Calcite is not only used to increase the pH of acidic drinking water but is also used to re-mineralize water that is the end-product of Reverse Osmosis purification, decrease contamination from some heavy metals in waste and storm water runoff, remediate water used in mining processes and activities, and as part of biofilter odor control systems. Columbia River Carbonates has placed a strategic emphasis on participating in this technically challenging market and has developed the Puri-Cal family of products. All Puri-Cal brands are certified to NSF 60, a global standard for potable water treatment, and are produced to exacting size standards from our Pacific Northwest sources of high purity calcite.
